[By Interprovincial Telegraph/} Wellington, December 5. Considerable excitebienfc is manifested v/ith reference to the dinner to be given to Mr Fitzherbert to-morro\y, in consequence of the affair - having assumed a political aspect. The fact that it is given to him as Colonial Treasurer is causing great regret amongst many personal friends. He has resigned the Treasurership, and Major Richardson succeeds him.
