From the placard outside the Telegraph Station we publish the following arrivals and departures, viz.:— Wellington. Arrived—October 13 —2 p.m, Omega from Newcastle. October 14—8 a.m, Rose of Eden from Sydney. Ootober 15—7 a.m, Gazelle from Newcastle ; 10.45 o.m, Wellington from Lyttelton. Ootober 15 —11 p.m, Wanganui ' from Wanganui. October 16—10.15 a.m, i Otago from Nelson. Sailed—October 14—7 p.m., Southland for . Wanganui. Nelson. : Arrived—October 14—3.30p.m, Otago from , Melbourne. Sailed—October 16*—11 a.m, Phoebe for i West Coast. ] The ship Lancashire Witch, Captain King, 3 baring discharged her cargo from London cleared at the Customs yesterday for Callao' and is expected to sail daily. ' ' The ship Red Rover has discharged her l inwards cargo, and is expected to sail for < Timaru shortly, for the purpose of taking in a , cargo of wool. x The s.s. Wainui, Captain Bain, left Port * Chalmers on Sunday evening, the 13 th, at ten < o'clock, and arrived at Oamaru on the following morning at five o'clock, having experienced ' strong northerly winds. Discharged cargo and j took In more for this port, and left again at i ten a.m. on Monday, and arrived at Timaru at six pm. on' the Bame evening; discharged i a .large, quantity of cargo next morning, and ( left at" three' p.m.'for Akaroa, where she . arrived at eight ,a.mr; left again at half-past - nine a.m., and arrived in Port Lyttelton at . a quarter-past four p.m. yesterday. 1 The barque Cantero, Captain Blaok, anchored off the Heads at six o'clock on Tuesday even- J ing, the 15th instant, from Newcastle. She , left on the Ist of October, and arrived off Cape Farewell, after experiencing fine westerly "i winds, on the eighth day ont, and passed - through the Straits ten days after leaving Newcastle ; and from thence experienced light S.W. winds. Spoke the barque Charlotte , Andrews about thirty miles outside the Heads at ten a.m. on Tuesday, the 15th instant. Experienced N.E. winds off the' Heads. ■ Captain Black reports that the ship King of Italy is bound for Bombay, and from thence to England. There are few vessels now in Newcastle, and the price of coal is on the rise.
