Mails per Prince Alfred, for Otago and Southland, will close at Christchurch at 8 a.m., and at Lyttelton at 11.15 a.m. on Tuesday, the 11th instant. Mails per Lady Bird, for Wellington, Napier and Auckland, will close at Christ-chu<-ch ut 8 a.m., and at Lyttelton at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, the 12th instant. Mails per Airedale, for England, India, the Australian colonies,, tlie Mediterranean ports, Otago and Southland, wul close at Christchurch and Lyttelton at 7 p.m., and at Kaiapoi at 2.80 p.m. on Saturday, the 15th instant. Money orders must be' procured,before 1 p.m., and letters for registry must be posted before 5 p.m. same diy. Late letters fbr places beyond the colony by payment of an extra shilling stamp, and for places within the colony by payment of an extra sixpenny stamp upon each letter, can be posted at Christchurch until within three hours, and at Lyttelton until within one hour, of the sailing of the steamer on Sunday, the 16th instant. Mails per Otago, for the Northern Ports of New Zealand, win close at Christchurch at 8 a.m-, and at Lyttelton at 11 a.m. on Monday, the 17th instant. Mails for the Selwyn Forks, Windwhiatle House, at?d Snowdon, will close at Christchurch on Wednesdays at 7"a.m.; the return mail will close at Snowdon at 7 a.m., and at Wind whistle House at 7.45 a.m. on Thursdays. Mails for the Hurunui will close at Christchurch every Monday and Wednesday at 7 am. Mails for Hawkswood will close at Christchurch at 7 a.m. every Monday.
