FIRE INSURANCE—KEROSENE OIL. : THE Undersigned ngouts carrying on the buei- | ness of Fire Insurance in Canterbury, Now Zealand, announce that in consequenco of the very hazardous nature of the recently introduced volatile oils'known, as Kerosene, Paraffin, PetiW louin, &c., it is deemed necessary to increase the rato of premium on all places, of business where these oils ore stored or used. In the case of private dwollings no alteration in the rates at present charged .will bo made. The following additions will bo made to the present scales of rates on all policies issued or renewed on and after the 25th of March proximo. On Shops, or Stores, .where it is used for tho purpose of illumination, or sold retail, 7s. 6d. per cent additional, _ On all Warehouses, or Stores, where it is kept in unbroken packages, ss. per cent additional.
