TIMARU.
At the meeting which was held on Saturday last, it was resolved to appoint a Committee for tbe purpose of obtaining the registration of electors, the number at present on the roll not being sufficient for the object of petitioning for the separation of Timaru from the Province of Canterbury. A petition against the repeal of the New Provinces Act was drawn up and numerously signed. We hope to be able to give further particulars in our next.
