TOP PRICE 160 GUINEAS AT BULL SALE AT WAIMANA
A top price of 160 guineas was paid by Messrs Stevens and Seeker, Waimana, for the 4-year-old bull, Cloverfieid’s Prince Pal, at the first annual bull sale on account of Mr R. L.
Macdonald, Waimana. Six 2-year-old bulls averaged 46 guineas and up to 100 guineas which was paid by Mr J. Brown, Opotiki, for a son of the outstanding breeding bull, Cloverfield’ls Vagabond. Top price amongst the yearlings was paid by Messrs Connor Bros., Opotiki, for a quality son of Merriland Felicity, V.H.C., C.P., who is now eligible for entry in the Elite Lifetime Merit Register. Mr R. E. Burr, Whakatane, was the last bidder on another splendid individual whose dam Kainga Pai Elaine, V.H.C., has four records of over 500 lb fat.
The yearlings sold averaged 39 guineas while the average for all bulls sold was 44 guineas. The sale was conducted by Mesrs Wright, Stephenson and Co. Ltd.
