Taneatua Fund For War Memorial Is Nearly Full
With only between £2OO and £3OO to be collected, the Taneatua War Memorial fund is expected to be complete before Christmas. The aim is to collect £ISOO, which will carry a subcidy of a similar amount.
The memorial will be a Community Centre, consisting of a hall with provision for Plunket rooms and a library. A section has been purchased and vested in the Whakatane County Council. The hall will be built by a Whakatane firm and the work will start as soon as the fund is full.
