Committee Of R.S.A. Discusses Variety Of Business
The regular meeting of the Wha- > katane R.S.A. Committee, held on Friday evening, produced a good attendance and a very full agenda of business. Among the many items discussed were War Memorials, Land Settlement, Lawn Cemetery Controls and District Conference matters. In connection with War Memor- ' ials, the committee decided to set aside £2oo* from general funds, £IOO towards the Whakatane scheme now being set up and £IOO to be divided among suitable County efforts. It was also agreed to make an immediate grant of £5 towards working expenses for the Whakatane Memorial Fund. The committee decided to cooperate in any way possible in regard to farewells for the K-Force personnel. ' Mr C. R. Wilson, in reporting on land settlement matters, gave the following information on Rehabilitation Land Settlement. tradings for all branches of farming as at March 31, 1950: Settled with Rehab, finance 7,448; settled without assistance 1,015; awaiting settlement 4,290; under training 428; awaiting training 437. Total 13,618. Last year 400 men were settled through the Land Settlement Board ' and 700 through the Rehabilitation Loans Committee.
