The appointment of Cr H. G. War ren as representative on the War Memorial Committee was approved at a meeting of the Whakatane Borough Council on Monday night. Mr R. T. Morpeth has been appointed to represent the Whakatane Domain Board.
The Minister of Maori Affairs, Mr Corbett, has announced that he will attend the Matatua Sextennial cele-
brations later this month. Hon. W. Sullivan, as member for the district, will also be present. The Prime Minister, Mr Holland; will not be able to attend.
