Stamp Wanted Members of the Whakatane Philetalic Society are awaiting the issue of the new Health Stamp with a view to conducting a search for flaws in the stamps. The stamp, now known as the “No stop” variety, because a full stop was missing, is priced at 12s 6d on the English market.

Water For Celebrations A deputation had asked that a temporary supply of water be laid on from Toroa Street to the pa, entailing 300 feet of piping, for the duration of the Sextennial celebrations, said the Town Clerk, Mr L. D. Lovelock, at a meeting of the Whakatane Borough Council on Monday night. The council decided to lay the piping, temporarily, as a donation to the celebrations. An application for lighting at the temporary premises was granted.
