Ruatoki Postmistress On Forgery Charge
Bail for self of £IOO and a further £IOO surety was allowed Kararaina Milroy, Postmistress, Ruatoki, who was charged with forging, uttering and cashing a pheque when she appeared in the Whakatane Police Court on Wednesday before Messrs S. S. Shapley and D. C. Petty, J’s. P. Senior Sergeant Fuller said that accused had stolen a Postal Packet in which the cheque for £2B 16s 6d was enclosed. She had forged the endorsement and had later cashed the document.
Accused pleaded guilty and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
