Good Quality Pigs Come Forward At Edgecumbe Sale
A large yarding of good quality pigs came forward at the fortnightly sale held at Edgecumbe by the Farmers’ Co-operative Auctionering Company. They consisted mostly of stores and buttermilk pigs and provided keen competition among local and outside buyers. Quotations:— Choppers, £6 10s to £7; medium bacon, £6 15s to £7 4s; pork and large buttermilk pigs, £5 9s to £5 17s; large stores, £4 10s to £5 ss; medium stores, £4 2s to £4 8s; small stores and slips, £3 10s to £3 15s; best weaners, £2 15s to £3 Is; others, £2 to £2 ss.
