New Rivals To Loch Ness Monster
Two new rivals to the Loch Ness monster have appeared in Scotland. One is a “great furry beast which came gliding from a chestnut tree” before the startled eyes of garage owner’s daughter Muriel Lamb and taximan Jock McDonald. They call it the Flying Beast of Banchory, in Kincardine. It appeared over the Town Hall, “like a giant dragon fly with a hairy tail* two feet long.” The second “beastie,” reported at Loch Morar, Inverness, is a “fantastic white sea monster” washed up on the shore. But Loch Ness, not to be outdone in tourist publicity, revived its monster. Even Britain’s Travel Association vice-president, George Dines, said that he had watched it for 10 minutes. More than a thousand people have now reported seeing the Loch Ness monster, though, in nearly 20 years, no clear photograph has ever been taken of it.
