A New Race In the Avondale programme for the November meeting there is included the Doncaster Stakes ' for three year olds and upwards. En Route The Hastings trainer, W. J. Evans left home last week for Te Awamutu en route to the Avondale meeting with Demonic, Precedency and Gild Chase. A Consistent Performer The early favourite for the Wanganui Guineas is Lady Christine, who last season as a two year old won five races, and ran one second and three thirds in nine starts. His Next Start Beau le Havre’s next start with the colours up will be in the Harcourt Stakes at Trentham in October. By that time he should be very well and hard to beat on a firm course. Aptly Named Mr T. C. Lowry’s full sister to Perfect Peace is to be raced in the name of Hush. Trained by Lance Stowe "at Hastings, she is already exhibiting galloping capability of merit. Moulding Into Shape One of the Takanini trained gallopers that is practically ready to race is White Blaze. She is likely, to be better than was the case last season and should therefore soon increase her list of winning efforts. Back To’ The Tracks , The 1946 Auckland Cup winner, Sylis, is again in work after a spell of many months. 'He has' benefited by the holiday and looks remarkably well and ready to undergo- a strong preparation for this year’s £10,300 race on Boxing Day. Galloping Freely " A- candidate likely to race well up to form at Avondale is Royal Charter, who has been galloping freely at Te Rapa, notwithstanding the extremely heavy tracks, since his placed performance last month in the Jellicoe Handicap. Breathing Affection In his last start the three year old Demonic, led the field in the early stages, but entering the home run , •he quickly fell back. It is assumed that he may be affected by respiratory trouble. After his run in the Avondale Guineas more may be known on this point. Big Offer Refused The two year old parade at the Pakuranga meeting was won by the Ballater—Dancing Lulu filly, Regal Charm. It does not follow that she can defeat the. same opposition at the early spring meetings, but nevertheless it is reported that an offer of four figures for the filly has been refused by the optimistic owner.
