HOLIDAY WEATHER
UNSETTLED, BUT FINE The weather has been a contradiction since the holiday first commenced. Cold, windy, with a faint hint of rain on Christmas Day, it has been far from ideal. On the other hand the weather has not deterred the usual number of holiday makers from attending Ohope, where the camp-grounds are covered with tents, and where every bach and house is carrying double its usual number of occupiers. • Swimming still appears to be the popular pastime, though the water is far from its usual summer temperature. The campers at Ohope are not as numerous as in other years, though we understand that heavier bookings are anticipated for the New Year. At the lakes, the weather has been fine, with extremely cold nights. Here again all baches are taxed to capacity, but there is not the usual amount of swiming or boating on the water.
