Selecting one that suited, his purpose, he asked the price. "If you just want the bottle we charge, a penny," said the assistant, "but if you have something in it we don't make any charge." "That's fair enough," admitted Pat. "Put. in a cork." Mrs. Jones: I'm afraid we shall have to get a new sofa in the spring my dear. Mr Jones: Would it not be better to get a new spring in the sofa? *<•■>>» Teacher: "Can anyone tell me what a mountain is?" Donald: "Please, "*its a field with its bac'k up." ta n n e> Mother (preparing for dinner): Whatever have you done . with the jelly Johnny? Tommy: Yes, it's mine, thanks. Father (teaching son the time): Now, those are the hours, and these arc the seconds. Son: But which are the jiffies? «*1 Of -* "~ Pat: 1 want to buy a bed. Furniture Assistant: A spring bed, sir? "' < Pat: No. begorra; wan as [ can sleep in all the year round. Small boy (to sexton of church): Please could you lend me some cricket bats? Sexton: Why should I have any cricket bats? Boy: Well, the boy down the road said you'd got bats in the belfry.
