UNITED NATIONS' WEEK
CZECHOSLOVAK ASSOCIATION'S APPEAL
The United Nations' Week, •Tunc 12th to 17th was set aside throughout the Dominion for relief of our fighting and distressed Allies. All raised money will be paid into the. National Patriotic Fund, In this special appeal for food and comforts the Czechoslovak Association in Auckland is, representing its nation.under the auspices of the Auckland Provincial Patriotic Committee. The Czechoslovak Association is pointing out that Czechoslovakia was the first sacrificed at Munich. She was the first lighting Ally of the British. And this is the. first and only occasion that the Czechs are appealing to the generosity of New Zealanders. * For years thous- ; amis of Czechoslovak airmen were helping the R.A.F. in protection of Britain and of Allied shipping and bombing Hitler's European Fortress. The Association speaks on behalf of the 60,000 Czechoslovak soldiers fighting in Italy and Russia, and of others who will march with the Allied liberating Forces now invading Europe. These Czechoslovak fighting and wounded boys receive, no comforts from their cruelly oppressed homeland. Their, relatives were either killed by the Nazis or suffer in counters thousands in concentration camps of the Gestapo. Please do not forget these heroic "fighting orphans." Send your donations to the Czechoslovak Association, Box 515', Auckland, which will acknowledge direct, or else earmark your donations to the local Patriotic Committee thus: "For Czechoslovak Association, Auckland."
