Freeman, S.M., in the Tc Aroha Court when considering a Traffic Department prosecution of the Taluma-Te HoePatetonga Transport Company for having a truck on the. road which was defective in brakes, steering and headlights. Mr Burns said the company had a large fleet of trucks but had had difficulty in getting this one serviced at a garage. His Worship: I know all about that.but the plea about spare parts is becoming a spare parts in most 'legal discussions oil the. matter. There's plenty of brake-lining about, and defective steering is a mbst dangerous thing to let go. The inspector said he had driven the truck himself to check its condition. It had since been serviced at another garage. A line of 30s with IDs costs was imposed.
