WHAKATANE CLUB'S VISIT
MATCH WITH OPOTIKI A team of twenty-two players from the Whakatane Golf Club visited Opotiki last Monday (King's Birth, day) for the purpose of playing the annual inter-club fixture. A most enjo3 r able day eventuated, golf being played under ideal conditions. Tlie result was a handsome win, for the Home Club. Mr F. J. Reynolds for the visitors thanked the Opotiki club for its particularly the ladies for the manner in which they ha,d performed the catering. Mr F. J. Short, responded on behalf of the Opotiki club, mentioning that all members were looking forward to the return game at Whakatane. NO DRAW FOR SATURDAY There will be no official draw next Saturday (Show Day), but members aic requested to complete their section matches not later than the weekend. WHAKATANE LADIES' CLUB j ONE DAY TOURNAMENT A most successful One Day Tournament was held at the Whakatane links on Monday,' June sth, players from the majority of the clubs in the Bay of Plenty taking part. Some excellent scores wei'e returned dining the day. The winners of the Morning Medal round were: A, Mrs Farmer 84—11 —73; Miss Black being the runner up with 88 -—11 —77. B, Miss Py tie (Mokorua) 93—1265. The runner up being Miss E. Bui lard 102—34—68. C, Miss Dell runner up Miss Kj. Rand. A Stableford Bogey round in the afternoon resulted as follows: A. Mrs Vanstone (Opotiki) 35; runner up Mrs Bullard 34. B, Miss P. McDougaJ (Te Puke) 34 won on a recount from Miss" Sloane C Medal Round, Miss S. Savage 108; runner up Miss Dell. Mrs Bullard, the Club in presenting the trophies at the end of the day's play thanked the visiting clubs for their attendance, and complimented the winners on the excellent cards returned. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr L. Rangi far his assistance with the cards.
