Re-Opening Camping Ground

Application At Mount Maunganui

Improvements Required By

Council

Unless the minimum requirements as recommended last season by the Mount Maunganui Borough Council's Health Inspector, Mr C. S. O'Neill, and later approved by the council, are carried out, the council will not issue a permit tor the use of the property on the corner of Maunganui Road and Leinster Avenue as a camping area.

This decision was reached at the monthly meeting of the council when a letter was received from a resident seeking a permit to reopen the camping ground which was closed last year. The Town Clerk. Mr G. E. Hutton stated that he had advised the applicant verbally what was required to be done before he thought the council would consider the issue of a permit. He had also suggested that the applicant should approach the Health Inspector regarding the camping ground.

The council decided to advise the applicant that it would not consider issuing a permit unless the improvements, of which the owner was advised, were carried out.
