AWARD OF £4563 TO WIDOW
(P.A.) Wellington, Oct. 23. The full damages claimed, £4503, were awarded Eileen Olive Harrison, a widow, by a jury today. The plaintiff brought the claim against Herbert James O’Connor, a cartage contractor, of Lower Hutt, driver of a car which ran over and fatally injured her husband at Lower Hutt in April. In entering judgment for the sum awarded, Mr Justice Hay granted counsel for the defendant leave to apply for a new trial.
