C.I.G.S. ON VISIT TO HONGKONG
DEFENCES TO BE INSPECTED DURING STAY (Rec. 8.50 a.m.) London, Oct. 27. The Chief of the Imperial General Staff (Field-Marshal Sir William Slim) has arrived in Hongkong by air from Singapore. He is accompanied by the Commander in Chief of the Far East T ond forces (Lieut. General Sir John Harvey). Field-Marshal Slim is to inspect the defences and will confer with the local commanders.
