Tauranga Company’s Drive For Funds
(By “Guider”) In connection with the drive for funds for the Baden-Powell Hall alterations, the Tauranga Girl Guide Companies are organising a collection of clean used clothing. The gir’s are all eagerly looking forward to the proposed visit of the New Zealand Chief Commissioner. Miss R. Herrick, next month, and are busy practising marching, badge display work and other activities. Mrs F. Balfour, Provincial Commissioner for this area will accompany Miss Herrick, and companies from Whakatane, Taneatua and Te Puke will come to Tauranga for this special “Field Day.” The Brownies, although at present without a Brown Owl, are working satisfactorily. Nola Shandley, a Guide from the Tauranga Company, is helping Tawny Owl as Pack Leader. Elizabeth Alio, Ann Tunnicliffe, Lee Parnwell and Tristine Search, have been' busy passing I lie lusts required for their Golden Hand (first class) badge. '
