Kitchen Evening At Omanawa

Presentations Made To Postmistress

At a kitchen evening held in honour of Miss J. Malcolm at Omanawa last week, Mr L. Kerr spoke of the high esteem in which the bride-to-be is held in the district, and wished her everv happiness in her future life. He asked Miss Malcolm to accept a number of gifts. Mr L. 'Lawry suitable replied. For many years Miss Malcolm has been postmistress of the Omanawa Falls Post Office, and on behalf of the settlers of Omanawa Falls Mr Kerr made a presentation in appreciation of her services. Mr R. Malcolm replied on behalf of his daughter. The guest of honour was presented with a beautiful bouquet from Glenis Kerr and a shoulder spray from Lorraine Ferry. Leo Jensen presented a buttonhole to Mr Lawry while Mai’ke Jensen gave one to Mr R. Malcolm. .

Misses Nola Kerr, Mary, Marlene and Barbara Jensen entertained the guests with Highland dancing. They were accompanied by Mrs Albert Jensen. Mr W. Brock way provided music for dancing; and Miss R. Lawson was master of ceremonies. The hall had been beautifully decorated for the occasion by the social committee.
