Eight Killed By Terrorists In Attack On Malayan Railway Town
(luc 8.20 a.m.) London, September 11. A force of some 300 Communist terrorists today attacked a lonely railway town in Southern Malaya. They murdered two European railway engineers, Mr D. W. Brice and Mr J. Murgatroyd, four Malayan policemen and two Malayan women. Sight of the attackers were killed.
A Singapore message says that the terrorists fir-,, cut telephone wires and tore up several stretches of railway fine. Then they attacked the police station. The two engineers were dragged from a breakdown train and killed, together with three police guards. The terrorists made off after three hours fighting, leaving the railway buildings in flames. Police and troops were sent to the area. Further south, in Johore, Ghurka troops today killed four terrorists. North of Kuala Lumpur the Federation capital Royal Air Force Fighters made attacks on a jungle encampment.
