Varied Competitions At Aongatete
The August meeting of the Aongatete Women's Institute was held in the Aongatete Church Hall, Mrs Andrews presiding over a good attendance of members and visitors. An invitation was received from the Katikati Institute to be present at its birthday celebrations next month. Mesdames Andrews, G. B. Walford, and Duncan were elected as delegates to the approaching halfyearly council meeting. An address was given by Mrs R. H. Faulkner, a member of the Tauranga Hospital Board, on the hospital's administrative work. A written competition conducted by Mrs Andrews was won by Miss E. Wright. Other competitions resulted: Cauliflower pickle, Mrs Maier; best Iceland poppies in vase, Mrs P. B. Clark; best embroidered cushion, Miss E. Wright 1, Mrs Wright 2, Mrs L. Grayling 3. The hostesses were Mesdames Morton, Callender and Warrender.
