APATA WOMEN'S INSTITUTE
SPECIAL EFFORTS IN AID OF CORSO (Times Correspondent) The August meeting of the Apata Women's Institute took place at the home of Mrs R. Swaine, Mrs W. F. McClinchie presiding over a good attendance of members. Two speial efforts in aid of Corso were held during the afternoon, members competing for the best child's thrift garment and a special sales table, which was quickly cleared, garments and proceeds to be sent to Corso. Mrs McClinchie congratulated members of the Drama Circle on the success of their play presented at the recent Drama Festival, and Mrs Steemson, who produced the play, was presented with a bouquet of flowers from members of the Drama Circle. A very interesting demonstration of machine fancy work was' given by Mrs Wright of the Aongatetc Institute. Competition results were as follows: Child's thrift garment, Mrs Whitehead 1, Mrs Gilbert 2; best spring bloom, Mrs Morrison 1, Mrs Swaine 2.
