Hospital Board Property A decision to call tenders for a year to year lease of the Tauranga Hospital Board's Roberts Street property was reached at the monthly meeting of the board.

New Children's Ward Advice that steel for the new children's ward at the Tauranga Hospital left Antwerp on February 28 and should be due about the middle of next month, has been given the Tauranga Hospital Board.

Rotorua-Taupo Highway A 14-mile stretch of the RotoruaTaupo Main highway is being macadamised by a contractor for the Works Department. The only othei remaining strip to be completed is a short stretch of four miles at Waiotapu. Praise For Press

Water-Heater For School Permission to iristal a water-heater suitable for providing cocoa for pupils was sought by the Mount Maunganui School from the iau-rr-nga Electric Power Board. the present school roll was 220 and it was pointed out that the roll was increasing steadily. The school di'd not come under the free milk scheme. The application was referred to the board's engineer for further consultation with the headmaster oi the school.

Sections at Mt. Maunganui In a letter a resident of Mount Maunganui asked the Borough Council if i'fc would consider selling him one of its sections. The mayor, Mr S. F. Newton, expressed the opinion that the council should adopt the po'icy of advertising any property it intended to dispose of, so that everybody would have an equal opportunity of acquiring what was offered. The meeti'ng decided to advise the resident that at the present time the council had no intention of disposing of any of its sections. ■
