WINNER OF TUTCHEN SCHOLARSHIP
MOUNT MATING A NITT ENTRANT SUCCESSFUL F BEAR TO RECEIVE FLYING INSTRUCTION Advice has been received from Mr C Tutchen of Tauranga, that the winner of the Flying Scholarship sponsored by him and conducted by the Tauranga Aero Club was Mr F. H. Bear, of Mount Maunganui. There were 36 entries for this scolarship which was competed for recentlv. and the standard of flying generally was very high, said Mr Tutchen. All entrants had received approximately 20 minutes dual flying instruction and were judged on their merits, due consideration being given to previous flying experience and to the weather conditions prevailing at the time the examination was held.
It is anticipated that. Mr Bear’s instruction. under the terms of the scholarship, will begin in the immediate future and will continue till be ha c attained “A” licence standard.
