NEW EDITOR FOR N.Z. LISTENER

MR H. M. HOLCROFT TO SUCCEED MR OL'iVER DUFF # (P.A.) Wellingt.cn, March 15. The appointment of Mr H. M. Hoicroft. of Invercargill, as editor of the New Zealand Listener was announced today by the Public Service Commisssion. He succeeds Mr Oliver Duff, who has reached the retiring age. Mr Holcroft, who is 46, will take up his appointment in June. He was formerly editor of the Southland Times, but is better known as the author of three collections of literary-philosophical essavs. Hn won the Hubert Church Memorial Prize for the best prose written in New Zealand during the year of their publication with two of his works. Mr Holcroft has also been actively associated with the United Nations and was recently in Paris and Beirut as New Zealand delegate to two conferences caded by Unesco. '
