At a sitting of the Magistrate’s Court in Tauranga yesterday morning, before Mr R. W. Haddow, J.P., a charge of breaking and enteiing w«s made against William Arthur Nathan, aged 28, who was remanded to appear at Tauranga tomorrow, when he will face, as well, other housebreaking charges pending The accused was charged with breaking and entering the counting house of the Northern Steamship Company with intent to commit a crime, on the night of March 12. A further charge, of drunkenness, was brought against a young man of Tauranga, who was found intoxicated in the Strand on March 12. A first offender, he was convicted and fined 10s. The police prosecuted in both cases.
