WHAKATANE TEAM DEFEATED J. REID’S GOOD BOWLING PERFORMANCE (Times Correspondent) Te Puke scored an easy win over the Whakatane Pest and Telegraph cricket team when they met during the weekend. The visitors won the toss and put 'Te Puke into bat, T, Reid and E. Capon opening. Wickets fell fairly quickly and with three down for nine, Te rUKt were in trouble. W. Clarkson and I. Crowley, however, batted soundly and carried the score to 57, before Crowley was out fer 16.
