DECISION OF HUNTLY MINERS

(P.A.) Huntlv. March 1. The dispute owm the minimum rates of pay fdr five pairs of miners, which has resulted in the Renown Min* at Huntlv being idle since last Thursday, has been settled. The men have agreed to abide by the decision of the Coal Council. A meeting was held bv the men at the mine todav. after which they returned to their homes. They said, however, that they would resume work tomorrow. A proposal from the management of the Renown Collieries that the minimum wage be paid pending the decision of the Coal Council was accepted by the Northern Minors’ Union at ' a meeting yesterday between the union executive and the management. Meetings were held this morning at the McDonald and Glen Afton mines. The MacDonald mine was idle yesterday, and the men returned home again after today’s meeting. Work was commenced after the meeting at Glen Afton.
