VISITORS TO MOUNT MAUNGANUI
ANNUAL INFLUX HAS BEGUN (Times Correspondent) The annual influx of visitors, which occurs about this time of the vear at Mount Maunganui, has started and already many holiday makers have taken up their accommodation.
Several tents are already pitched both in the council’s camps and on private sections. Enquiries at the council’s office reveals the fact that all the sites available at the Domain Camp. 110 in number, have been booked out for at least a fortnight from Christmas Eve while at the Municipal Camp more than 180 sites have been reserved. It is expected that many more of the sites still available there will be taken by campers arriving within the next few days who have not reserved their sites. It has been found in the past that there are always many who take the risk of disappointment in this way.
