AUCKLAND COOL STORE DEPOSITS

NO FURTHER DEVELOPMENTS PREPORTED

NEGOTIATIONS STILL PROCEEDING

(P.A.) Auckland, today There Have been no further developments in the dispute between the Auckland Farmers’ Freezing Co. and the workers engaged at the companv’s cool store at King’s Wharf.

The men have asked for payment at the rate of time and a-half for working on Wednesday next, and, following the refusal of the company to grant this request, which is outside the terms of the freezing workers’ award, the men have intimated that they will not work between Friday midday and next Thursday morning at the usual overtime rates. Although negotiations are still proceeding between the men who are acting against the advice of the executive of their union, and Government officials, no settlement appears in sight. Complete arrangements have been made with the Railway Departmnet to lift any butter dairy factories are not able to hold in their own cool stores. This butter will be held in insulated, vans, which efficiently held butter for up to five days in emergency periods during the war.
