DECEMBER MEETING AT TAURIKO
PUNTS ON EXHIBITING NEEDLEWORK The December meeting of the Tauriko Women’s Institute was well attended, Mrs N. F. Skelton presiding. A welcome was extended to Mrs Faulkner, Mrs Flower and Miss Flower of Tauranga and to a new member. Mrs R. Gasson. Mrs B. Watson read two very interesting letters from link members in England. Reports on parties were given by Mrs L. Allan, Mrs Skelton and Mrs Watson. The Golden Thread was taken by Mrs Morris who related a story of a pioneer settler at Kawhia. The guest speaker was Mrs Flower of Tauranga who gave a most interesting address on hints on classification of entries of needlework for shows. She displayed a large number of beautiful exhibits. Competitions resulted: Large bloom, Mrs Morris 1, Mrs Mclntosh 2; small bloom, Mrs Geraghty 1, Mrs Mclntosh 2; vegetable, Mrs Geraghty 1, Mrs Watson 2. ■ The hostesses were Mesdames J. K. Moore and W. Morris.
