At the last meeting of the Mount Maunganui Borough Council the Chamber of Commerce reouested the council to take steps to have a dilapidated building at the junctions of The Mall and Salisbury Avenue removed, on the grounds that it was unsightly and the cause of many, unfavourable comments from both residents and visitors. The council decided to write again to the owner asking him to consider removing the building in question. At this week’s meeting a reply was received stating that the owner would be visiting Mount Maunganui in the near fujture and would call at the council offices regarding the building.
