LADDER SYSTEM FOR TABLE TENNIS

MEETING OF OMOKOKQA CLUB POWER RESTRICTIONS AFFECT PLAY Th 3 ladder system for table tennis was discussed at the annual meeting of the Omokorba Table Tennis Club, and the question was referred to the committee to make improvements, possiblv under the same system as is at present being played in Wellington; that is instead of having ladders for both men and women, the top players arc mixed on one ladder and the remainder of the club on the other. Concern at the present power restrictions was expressed by club members, and it v/as hoped that the 10.30 p.m. limit would net continue for long, as the custom had been to play until about 11.30. Twenty-four players attended the meeting. Reporting on the past season's play, the president (Mr C. Foster) pointed out that it was now 11 years since the club had been formed. He congratulated the players who had gained representative honours. The election of officers resulted: Patron, Mr H. Gardner; president, Mr C. Fester; vice-presidents, Messrs A. Nicholas, J. Ewart, C. Sims, T. Plummer and L. Hearfield; committee: secretary (Mrs H. Allan), captain (Mr N. Prole), vicecaptain (Mr E. Nicholas), Mr J. Elvin and Mr Foster; delegates to association, Messrs P. Moloney, V. Hansen. H. Roigard and C. A sceial committee was formed under Mrs Allan.
