PASSENGER PLANE DELAYED
ARRIVAL IN TAURANGA THIS MORNING The North Auckland service of the New Zealand National Airways Corporation was interrupted yesterday afternoon when the Lockheed Electra Koweka was delayed at Kaikohe by engine trouble. Although the fault was quickly rectified, it was decided to hold the aircraft at Kaikahi until an engineer had been flown up from Auckland to inspect and pass the motor. The plane, which was to have left Kaikdhe at 12.55 p.m. for Whangarei, and to have reached Auckland at 2.50 before continuing to Tauranga and Gisborne, did not land at Whenuapai until 6.46 p.m. It remained there overnight. The aircraft arrived at Tauranga shortly before 8 o'clock this morning, in continuation of the service.
