AUTUMN RACES AT TAURANGA

SECOND DAY FIELDS Nineteen In Open Mile Event Kaitawa Top-Weight In Kerries Memorial Big fields are entered for the second day of the Bay of Plenty Racing Club’s autumn meeting on Saturday. Provision has been made for divisions in the Kaimai Hack Hurdles and the Wairoa Stakes, but the safety number is only exceeded by three and two, respectively. The Maunganui Handicap, the open mile on the programme, has drawn 19 acceptors, and Master Ted (8.8) is top weight. For the Herries Memorial Hack Handicap there are 20 acceptors, Kaitawa, last week’s winner, heading the list with 9st 71b. Acceptances:— 11 a.in.
