Sir —ln connection with the anneal for contest funds for the TaSranga Highland Pipe Band may I take this opportunity, on behalt of the Band Committee, of extending our gratitude to those who alj ready have given us financial S Twfsh to make it clear to the general public that the committee in Tauranga and Te Puke, to gatnei unds but these, of course have o necessity, been cancelled .because 01 tie epSemic. The band had been before the restrictions, even as tar afield as Auckland in its efforts to rafse money to cover expenses to inclusion, may I explain that this appeal was not initiated by the Band Committee, the memte which are well aware of the assist ance they have received m the pa*t from the whole Bay of Plenty distriCt'would therefore extend grateful thanks to the keen supporters who set the apnea going and to the Bay of Plenty Times for the encouraging support it has given on our behalf.-I am, etc. M. Sir—l would like to suggest that instead of the citizens of Tauranga subscribing part of the exposes of the Highland Pipe Band to Dunedm they subscribe the whole amount Anyone can see that to take 21 members to Dunedm will cost at least £4OO.
