NEW SAFETY DEVICE FOR AIRCRAFT

OPERATION AT LONDON'S

MAIN AIRPORT

London, Jan. 16

A new safety device at Heathrow, London's principal airport, makes collisions virtually impossible between aircraft flying in the vicinity. The position of every plane within a radius of 25 miles, will be shown on a new type of radar screen. Directions will be issued to pilots to help them in their approach. An air correspondent says that it is believed that Heathrow is the only airport in the world to have this device.
