A BRIDE FROM ATHENREE
McALPINE—RAPLEY
A quiet wedding was celebrated at St. Peters Church, Katikati, on Saturday, when Enid Jane, second daughter of Mrs G. W. Rapley of Athenres was married to John George, only son of Mr and Mrs J. G. McAlpine of Mt. Albert, Auckland.
The Rev. J. T. Hickson was the officiating clergyman, and the organist was Mx\s Jollands of Lower Hutt, a cousin of the bride The bride, who was escorted by her brother, wore a lovely gown of white shadow lace made with long narrow-fitting pointed sleeves and a net yoke edged with narrow pleating. The skirt fell into a long train. Her full-length, hand-worked tulle veil was held in place by a halo of orange blossom, and she carried a bouquet of white gladioli, carnations and. rosebuds. She 'was attended by her sister, Dora, who was wearing a groundlength frock of pale blue figured marquisette, with cap sleeves, a round neck, and the waistline featuring a pcplum. Her pink and blue posy was made of delphiniums and carnations.
Mr John Gardner of Auckland was best man.
'After the ceremony relatives were entertained at a buffet breakfast at “Araroa,” Athenree, the home of the bride. The bride travelled in a tailored frock and cherry coloured coat, with a cream straw hat and cherry trimming. Mr and Mrs M' 1 Alpine will make their home at Titirangi, Auckland.
