PALMERSTON NORTH WEDDING

TUNNiCLIFFE—CHRISTENSEN

A pretty wedding of Tauranga interest was solemnised at the Lutheran Church, Palmerston North, recently, when Betty Edith, third daughter of Mr and Mrs A. Christensen of Palmerston North, was married to Victor John Norris, youngest son of Mr O. D. Tunnicliffe and tire late Mrs Tunnicliffe of Tauranga.

The Rev. A. Christensen was the officiating minister, and Miss L. Christensen was the organist. The church had been artistically decorated by friends of the bride with orange blossom and pink and white sweet peas. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a slim fitting gown of ivory embossed satin with- a sweetheart neckline. The fitting bodice buttoned down the back to a low waistline, the full skirt forming a long train. Her embroidered tulle veil was held to the head with a spray of velvet flowers and a coronet of tulle. She wore a double string of pearls, the gift of the bridegroom, and carried a shower bouquet of Christmas lilies and maidenhair fern.

The bride was attended by hextwo sisters, Misses Naomi and June Christensen, as bridesmaids, and her neice, Shirley Christensen, as flower-girl. They were frocked alike in pink hailstone muslin over satin,, a frill edged with blue velvet ribbon forming the neckline. Their full skirts were formed from two gathered frills, and they carried bouquets of pink carnations. The bridegroom was attended by Mr Norman Johansen as best man, and Mr Maurice Brougham as groomsman.

A reception was held at the Royal Dutch Lounge where the guests were received by the bride’s mother who wore a navy costume, her shoulder spray being of pink and red eaxmations.

Pride of place was given to the beautiful three-tiered wedding cake which had been made by the bi-idegroom’s sister, Mrs A. W. R. Seabourne of Mt. Maunganui. The bride travelled in a pink, twopiece suit, with white accessories, and an oatmeal coloured coat. Mr and Mrs Tunnicliffe will make their home at Lake Roto-ma.
