VICTORY BY NINE RUNS
GAME BETWEEN TAURANGA HOTELS
A cricket game between teams representing the Masonic and Commercial Hotels, played on the Domain during the weekend, resulted in a win for the Commercial Hotel team by the narrow margin of nine runs. For the winning team J . Ciarke gave a forceful display with the bat and was undefeated with 71 runs to his credit. The Commercial Hotel team compiled 104 runs. Bowling for the Masonic tearn B. Budd secured six wickets to! 25 and E. Beer took three for 24, including the hat-trick The Masonic team, when their last wicket fell, had compiled 95 mW A ‘- Ga JL agher (24) and B. Budd U 3) being the principal run-getters. Bowling honours for the Commercial Hotel team were shared by D Jones, four wickets for 32 runs, and J. Clarke, three for 26.
