Mr J. Miller, S.M., has retired after 49 years!' service in the Justice Department and 20 years on the magisterial bench. Mr Miller has been Stipendiary Magistrate for the Napier circuit for 13 years.
Sir Harold Luxton, advisory director in Melbourne of the Bank of New Zealand, and chairman of directors of the National Mutual Life Association of Australasia, Ltd., arrived by flying boat from Sydney yesterday. He will spend about three weeks on holiday in New Zealand and will leave for Wellington this morning.
