FRIENDLY MATCH AT PYE’S PA
F. P. KEENAN SECURES HAT TRICK
The Barbers’ cricket team of Tauranga, beat Pye’s Pa in a friendly match during the weekend, on the first innings. Pye’s Pa batted first and compiled 111 runs, Barbel’s replying with a total of 123. In the second innings. Pye’s Pa gained r /1 points and Barbers knocked up 59. G. A. Merriman was top-scorer for Pye’s Pa in the first innings with 25, while L. Brewer gained top bowling honours with 4 wickets for 14 runs. In Barbers innings, N. Hyndman’s 89 runs was the feature, and F. P. Keenan performed the hat trick. L. Brewer again bowled well in Pye’s Pa’s second innings, to gain four wickets for three runs.
