UNABLE TO COMPETE IN CONTEST
TAURANGA MUNICIPAL BAND THE. UNIFORM QUESTION / The Tauranga Municipal Band, because some of its members are not properly uniformed, lias decided not to enter in the Hamilton competitions in August. Efforts are being made to obtain further uniforms and properly equip all members of the band, but as yet, nothing is definite as to when this will be achieved. Meanwhile, the band is not up to full contest strength. The strength of the band is about 25, including seven juniors and twice a week —Mondays and Thursdays—practices are held. The Hamilton Musical Festival and Competitions Society will conduct victory competitions from August 24 to August 31 and prizes* total £IOSO for events such as singing, music, dancing and elocution.
