R. McKinney at the annual meeting of the Tadranga Electric Power Board when discussing the question oj the shortage of electricity. A report of the meeting of the emergency committee was before the board, it being stated that a letter from the Electricity Controller, asking what means the board had adopted to control the load, had been considered'.

Rongard), giving the particulars asked for, and that in order to bring about the utmost economy the executive prepare a circular letter lo consumers to he posted with the •next month’s accounts.

Every unit used meant more water to produce it. Mr G. T. Wilson said that, to his mind, there were only two ways of reducing the load. One definitely was by cutting off the load and iedncing the units that way. The oilier was by the voluntary switching off cf current by consumers. There was no hope of getting the reduction lo suit the Government unless there were cut-off periods or by piopagauda and voluntary savings. The recommendation cf the committee was adopted
