THE ELECTIONS IN CZECHOSLOVAKIA
TREND OF VOTING NOT YET KNOWN
Socialists Leading In Prague
Successes For People's Party
Louden, May 20
Polling in the Czechoslovak general election ended this afternoon. The trend of the voting is not expected to be known until to-morrow but agency covrespondents have been giving the position of the parties as a result of unofficial and far from complete returns. In Prague the Czech Socialists were leading from the Communists and the Catholic People's Party. The figures from 200 villages in one area show that the Communists were well ahead of the People’s Party and the Czech Socialists. ’Returns from GO villages in Moravia put the People’s Party ahead of the Communists and Social Democrats. A message from Bratislava showed that in the Slovak villages the Right wing Democratic Party was leading. The Communists were running second and the Labour Party and Catholic Freedom Party were far behind.
